The Meditation of Metta

May all living beings be well, happy and peaceful, and no harm come to them. May they not be inflicted with difficulties, and may no problems come to them. May they always meet with success; and, may they also have patience, courage, understanding, and determination to meet and overcome inevitable difficulties, problems, and failures in life.


The meditation of Metta focuses on demonstrating benevolence toward all beings, without discrimination, that is free of selfish attachment. It is a strong, sincere wish for the happiness of all beings. 

At a time when, in each of our neighborhoods, exists economic challenges, animosity, and even violence, we often forget to have empathy for our neighbors, friends and strangers. By selecting the name “Metta” it is our hope we can begin to create increased awareness for goodwill, charitableness, trust, loving-kindness and understanding among all.
